The Combat Knife is a melee weapon found in Apocalypse Rising. It is the fastest swinging melee weapon along with the Sabre, but does the lowest damage of any melee weapon.
Background[]
A combat knife is a fighting knife designed solely for military use and primarily intended for hand-to-hand combat or fighting.
Since the end of trench warfare, most military combat knives have been secondarily designed for utility use (clearing foliage, chopping branches for cover, opening ammunition crates, etc.) in addition to their original role as close-quarter combat weapons, and may be referred to as "fighting-utility knives." On the other hand, military knives that are intended primarily for use in a role other than combat are typically referred to by their primary role, such as "utility knife" or "survival knife".
Appearance[]
The Combat Knife has a black cylindrical handle and a short grey/white blade resembling a normal knife blade. It is rather small and carries no special effects.
Recommended Use[]
It is not recommended to use the combat knife for anything but occasional civilian zombie killing. Even though it has a quick fire speed, the low damage would allow another player a dangerous amount of reaction time to the attack.
Notes[]
- One hit in the head kill to civilian zombies. Military zombies can take more than one hit if they have helmets.
- The small range of the knife exposes the player to more danger.
- Even though it's a small item, the player still wields it with two hands like any other melee weapon.
