The 50 Round M4A1 Magazine is an extended magazine found in military areas.

History[]

STANAG magazines have been along since the creation of 5.56x45mm NATO rounds. The first time STANAG magazines were used was when the M16 asault rifle was introduced. When other countries saw the success of the 5.56x45mm round, they either made their own weapons chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO or used other weapons that used the round[1]. A notable example of a modern weapon that uses the 30 Round STANAG magazine is the M4A1 assault rifle, currently in service with the U.S. Army[2].

Appearance[]

The M4A1 magazine looks a lot like the magazines used in the AK-47 and AK-74 rifles. It has the same curved shape as the AK-47 magazine and AK-74 magazine, and around the same size. The main differences are in color and size. The M4A1 magazine is black, and the AK-74 magazine is orange. Additionally, the M4A1 magazine is a tad bit smaller than the AK-47 magazine, and larger than the AK-74 magazine. The extended M4A1 Magazine is also quite longer than the 30 Round M4A1 Magazine.

Notes[]

  • The M4A1 tier 2 magazines are larger than the tier 2 magazines used in the AK-47 and AK-74.
